U.S. Congress: “Ending the Scourge: The Need for the STOP CSAM Act”

NCMEC testifies in support of the STOP CSAM Act at a Senate subcommittee hearing.

NCMEC provided testimony during a hearing of the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary, Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism. The testimony included updates on reporting trends, emerging threats (including GAI CSAM, online enticement, and violent online groups), and NCMEC's support of proposed legislation—the STOP CSAM Act—with certain provisions to improve reporting to the CyberTipline, expand online platforms' obligations, and strengthen survivors' access to civil remedies.

NCMEC's written testimony and a video recording of the full hearing are available at https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/committee-activity/hearings/ending-the-scourge-the-need-for-the-stop-csam-act .
